Hawks Eye is made up of layered Quartz, and the reflections of these layers is what gives this stone it's beautiful chatoyance ("cats-eye" effect). As tiger's eye forms, sometimes there is iron present which will cause the Crocidolite to take on a golden tint, creating the golden brown tiger's eye that is most commonly seen. But, when the formation occurs without iron present, the Crocidolite is able to maintain its natural blue color, giving us Hawk's Eye or Blue Tiger Eye. This bright blue color connects deeply with the throat chakra, assisting with the verbalization of our feelings. It also helps you to speak your mind accurately while still being mindful and sympathetic to the feelings of others.
